Marc by Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs

Even though autumn – winter 2011 – 2012 trends are out, I thought I should go back to the spring summer runways as reference in order to dress up for the bright sunny days. Marc Jacobs has always been one of my favourite designers. What I love about his collection is the  wearability factor. Every piece showcased in a look can be worn as separates if not the way it’s put together on the runway. For his spring summer 2011 ready to wear collection Marc took inspiration from the 70’z. The collection was youthful as it included colourful stripes, little, fun playsuits, brightly coloured satchels and handbags, vibrant prints, sexy jumpsuits and colour-blocked over sized bangles stacked on one hand. Here are some of my favourite looks from the show.

The garments are perfect to wear for a shopping spree, a day out with the girls or even a date! You can find outfits which resemble the ones in the collection and try to create a similar look, which is always a challenge but also fun. Remember to add a pop of colour with accessories. A few bangles, a bright belt or the perfect pair of shades can make an outfit look put together. For those who would rather not venture into wearing the hiked up hemline can go for knee length or mid calf length skirts and dresses. Also,  do experiment with the jump suit! Trust me, it is a great investment as you can wear it differently every time.

Hope you enjoyed this post!
